Jam Can Origins…
Today CYCA continues the tradition of Jam Can with the help of sponsors like Omni Management Services and Auto Value.
Event Day Volunteering
Volunteers and curlers of all ages are needed on the ice to help the lite rock curlers for what is often their first time in a bonspiel. Juniors age 13 and up are asked to help with this lite rock event. Non-curling adults can help off the ice with registration, preparing prize and medal tables, helping to find team members and show them to their ice location, and more.
An ice helper is simply someone who is on the ice to help the curlers get their sliders on, put their rocks in place for throwing at the hack and just generally keeps the flow of action moving. All you need is a pair of clean indoor runners (or curling shoes) and a general knowledge of the game.
